Why Disinfect?

Cleaning vs Disinfecting

What’s the difference?  Cleaning refers to the removal of dirt and impurities, including germs, from surfaces.  Cleaning alone does not kill germs.  But by removing the germs, it decreases their numbers and therefore any risk of spreading infection.  Disinfecting works by using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces to further reduce any risk of spreading infection.

How we do it

First, for facilities that do not house people overnight, we request our clients to open outside doors and windows to increase air circulation in the area 24 hours before beginning cleaning and disinfection.  Facilities should not be occupied during disinfectant application.  Our cleaners begin an innovative application method through Ultra Low Volume fogging of an affected area with an EPA approved disinfectant.  This fog penetrates into materials, hard-to-reach areas, and settles on surface areas where other disinfection systems fall short to neutralize germs.  Specialized filtration vacuum cleaners with UV technology will be used to eradicate germs on entry mats, area carpets, and runners upon request.

Second, our cleaners thoroughly hand wipe all contact areas with disinfectants.  A 5 – 10 minute wait time will be done prior to wipe down. 

Third, a final damp wipe down of surface areas to remove any residual disinfectants will be done.

Measuring Clean
